Install Shinobi on Raspberry Pi -- Open Source CCTV Solution 🌱

What is Shinobi?

Install Shinobi

  1. Log into the Raspberry Pi
  2. Run the following commands in a terminal:
    # update software repositories
    sudo apt update
    # install software updates
    sudo apt upgrade -y
    # install pre-requisites
    sudo apt install git -y
    # clone shinobi code
    git clone https://gitlab.com/Shinobi-Systems/Shinobi.git Shinobi
    # change directory to Shinobi
    cd Shinobi
    # set permissions
    sudo chmod +x INSTALL/ubuntu.sh
    # execute the installation script
    sudo INSTALL/ubuntu.sh
  3. Answer Yes (y) when asked to install MariaDB
  4. Input a password for the root MariaDB user account
  5. Answer Yes (y) when asked to install the Shinobi database
  6. Enter root when asked for the database user
  7. Enter the root password created earnlier when asked for the database password
  8. Answer Yes (y) when asked to start Shinobi and start it on boot
  9. Open a web browser and navigate to http://DNSorIP:8080/super
  10. Login with the username admin@shinobi.video and password admin
  11. Select Preferences from the top navigation menu
  12. Change the admin user email address and enter and confirm a new password
  13. Click Save at the top of the page
  14. Welcome to Shinobi
